Regional Initiatives: Metro-York
Metro-York is an initiative of YorkCounts, a collaboration of community partners, including Better York, The United Way of York County, WellSpan Health, York College of Pennsylvania, York County Commissioners, York County Chamber of Commerce, and the York County Community Foundation, whose mission is to improve the quality of life and build a stronger, better community for all York County residents.

Metro-York is seeking a 21st Century model for the delivery of municipal and public school programs and services in the Metro-York region, as well as a revenue system capable of sustaining the model. The Metro-York project includes representatives from municipalities, school districts, businesses and organizations that are located across the Greater Metropolitan York Region. This diverse group of people have come to the process with open minds and one common desire to strengthen the community by working together to find realistic solutions that will bring true systemic change for the benefit of every citizen in York County.
